Why Idle Pilot Uses Credentials Instead of OAuth
Slack no longer offers a simple, official way for third‑party apps to control user presence via OAuth.
To reliably keep you active, Idle Pilot must act like a real Slack web session logged in as you.
That’s why idle Pilot uses your Slack session credentials (the same information a browser uses once you’ve logged in) instead of a standard “Sign in with Slack” button. This gives Idle Pilot enough access to keep you online, without asking you for access to your entire workspace as a typical Slack app might.
